Okay so…not what I expected, but a pretty good love story.
If you are looking for a very LOVEY story with LOTS of SEX, this one is going to fit the bill perfectly.
Ryan and Julia have been best friends since freshman year in college. They are both secretly in love with each other but afraid to let feelings be known. They are too afraid that it would change the dynamic of their relationship. They have spent every day together for the past four years.
Ryan is set to start Harvard Med and Julia is headed to California for a job interview with Glamour magazine. Although, they are not dating they keep in touch daily.
After five months apart, Ryan decides to spend Thanksgiving with Julia and come clean about his feelings toward her.
“I’m completely…and utterly in love with you.”
My eyes widened and my heart raced so fast I felt like I would die. “Night and day, you are all I think about. I miss my best friend, but I want so much more with you. From the moment we met, you’ve had me…captivated. It feels amazing to finally be able to say the words.”
In an effort to be closer to Ryan, Julia, decides to transfer and move to New York. This move really doesn’t resolve their distance issues, since Ryan is still attending school in Boston. But the incredible bond they share is enough to keep them together.
Fast forward four years. Julia is offered a promotion of her lifetime. This promotion will take her out of the country to Paris, France for six months to a year. This happens just as Ryan is in the homestretch of finishing school, and starting his residency in New York. This promotion will inevitably make their separation even longer.
Just as Julia has some amazing news that will keep her stateside rather than going to Paris, tragedy strikes and we are left wondering the fate of our beloved characters. These two cannot catch a break. Will they finally be together?
“Promise me that nothing will come between us.”
“I promise. Forever,” I whispered.
Sooo…the story is a cute story but left me wanting a little bit more. You never got to see their struggles to maintain their relationship while being apart for such a long time. There were glimpses of jealousy in Ryan’s case that could have really worked to add more to the story but once again didn’t really go anywhere. There were some characters brought in that could have shaken the story some but were not utilized in that way. Overall, it’s a charming story, which also contained some very STEAMY sex scenes!!! I am hopeful to see what is in store for Ryan and Julia in book 2…Don’t Forget to Remember me.
