Our Review
*4 out of 5 Stars*

I can honestly say that I enjoyed the book but I felt that in the beginning it seemed a little all over the place. I can't remember the exact moment where it al just came together but it did and once that happened it was like magic. It pulled me in and I found myself unable to tear myself away. It was steamy (I don't think i will ever look at maple syrup quite the same way), emotional, suspenseful, comical, and surprising.

Aubrey was running from her past. Caring for her sister as if she were her own. In order for her and Bell to stay safe she had to tell lies.

"I used to think a lie was a one-time thing, like an egg cracked against the edge of a pan, but a lie is more like a piece of string that you have to keep tying in knots so everything doesn't come undone."

From the moment that Sawyer saw Aubrey he knew her. There was something about her that he couldn't let go of.

"You were a gutted, wallowing candle."
"What?"
"That was my first impression of you, Aubrey. A wick drowning in melted wax, your flame in danger. Just one more gust of wind and you'd be lost. You'd become that lost girl, sad through and through."

Aubrey did not trust easily, but Sawyer was not giving up.

"You have this effect on me, like the moon has on tide."
"I see you, Aubrey, and I feel you. I've found you, and I will never let you go."

Let me say again there are some STEAMY scenes in this book!!! SUPER HOT!! ON FIRE!

"I want to take off all your clothes and lick and suck every inch of your body. I want to feel you quiver with pleasure, and maybe we bang the headboard into the wall a few times. Or not. It's all up to you how much pleasure you want, but I've already had lunch, so you should I am fueled up and ready to ride for hours."

The story takes some unexpected turns that leave you guessing. I can't wait for more!

Review:
Holy crap what a book!
*5 out of 5 STARS*
From the moment that I picked up this book I literally couldn’t put it down…so I didn’t! It really sucked me in to the story and had me captivated by the characters. It was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish.
RL Griffin is unbelievable! She threw so many twists and turns into the story that I did not know where it was headed, but it worked brilliantly.
Stella deals with a seriously heavy and emotional event that leaves her not knowing how to cope with life itself. If I were faced with a similar situation I believe I might have responded much the same way that she did.
“She was held together by a thread. Not even strong fishing wire, but the kind of thread that could  fray and break in the wind. A thread that could unravel at any moment, scattering and smashing all the pieces of her that she was trying desperately to keep together.”
With the help of her roommates and her friend, Stella, slowly starts to get back to her life.
“Time makes things tolerable. Time gives you perspective on events that shake your world to the core. Time allows you to move forward. But time doesn’t change the pain that sits in your gut.”
She meets George who is a bartender at the bar that she frequents with her roommates, Finnegan’s. He is determined to make her whole again.
“I want to tell you that you are beautiful, you know that? Inside and out.” He  kissed her left shoulder blade, “but you are broken. I plan on fixing you.”
“Oh really, how do you plan on doing that?” she asked without moving. He leaned down and kissed her lovingly on the back of her neck, up slowly behind her ear. A shutter went through her entire body. “Very slowly, and one piece at a time, love.”
OH. MY. GOD!!! *Sigh*
I can’t get over the ending. Talk about turn of events. It was not at all what I was expecting. I cannot wait until Book 2 comes out!!! I have so many questions that need answers STAT.

Excerpt:

When Pearl and Alexander first meet

It's both a comforting and disconcerting fact that there's a franchise coffee shop on practically every corner of NYC. You don't have to go far to feed your addiction. I shuffle through the door, now back in my sneakers- New York City sidewalks do not favor high heels for any period of time. You can tell how long someone has been living in New York by their footwear. Comfort first. Heels are for visitors. Or women from New Jersey.

I stand in line and ponder over the rich choice I a presented with. A wave of guilt washes over me as I mentally tot up the money I've spent on superfluous coffee breaks over the years- money needed by charities, for water wells somewhere, for a child's education. Stop! Life isn't fair. Yum, Mocha Cookie Delight...coffee blended with mocha sauce, vanilla syrup, chocolaty chips, milk and ice. Or a Vanilla Cappuccino - coffee flavored with vanilla and blended with milk and ice - and fewer calories.

A man's voice interrupts my chocolaty train of though.
"So how did you enjoy the conference?" His accent is foreign, his voice deep and melodic.

I look up, feeling now dwarfed in my flat sneakers, petite against his tall, solid frame. The first thing I notice, at eye level, is the definition of his pec muscles underneath his sun-faded, pale blue T-shirt. He's tanned; I see he has a name tag just like mine from the InterWorld conference, which reads: Alexander Chevalier. My gaze rises higher and I observe a pair of penetrating peridot-green rimmed with dark lashes, friendly yet intense, looking down at me. His hair is dark, his face unmistakably European - yes, dare I say it, he even looks French, the profile of his nose strong, the jaw defined. He's handsome I feel a frisson shoot up my spine. He's smiling at me. My stomach flips. I'm speechless with surprise.

"Your name tag," he clarifies. "Were you at the conference around the corner?"

"Yes, I was." I can't say any more. I feel like a teenager. My mind is doing acrobatics, trying to figure out why his presence makes no sense at all. this man must have borrowed the tag of the real Alexander Chevalier. Why?

He's at the front of the line, now, talking in French to another woman. She looks familiar. I feel an inexplicable pang of jealousy. Absurd! I don't even know him. Get a grip! But then realize-

"I'll pay for whatever this lady's having too." he tells the woman serving behind the counter, and he pulls out a wad of notes. I notice a stash of hundred dollar bills which he is trying to surreptitiously stuff back into his jeans' pocket, without drawing attention to himself.

He turns back to me and looks at my name tag. "For Pearl," he adds, rolling his tongue around the R of Pearl.

My name suddenly sounds beautiful, not like a pseudonym a hooker might use, which is what I was relentlessly teased for in high school.

"Pearl," he says again. "What a beautiful name. I've never heard that before. As a name, I mean."

"Well, my parents were kind of hippies. Thanks for the compliment, though. I'll have a...a...um, I'll have a vanilla cappuccino, please. You really don't have to do that - buy me a drink, I mean."

I funble about in my 'handbag' - although it seems more like an overnight bag - and try to locate my wallet. I'm not used to strangers buying me drinks. My fingers can't seem to find my wallet, anyway. I often fantasize about inventing an inside handbag light that switches on automatically whenever you open it - I'd ake millions- they'd be sold at supermarket checkouts nationwide. My bag is pitch dark inside, I can see nothing.

"And what's your name?" I ask, still not believing that this man before me is Alexander Chevalier, the twenty-four-year-old nerd in the hoodie, as he appeared in the online photo. This Alexander is sophisticated - looks way older than that. Even though he's just in T-shirt and jeans, he's stylish. Very Alpha Male -  yet oozing  je ne sais quoi. I could describe him as 'beautiful' but he is so much more than that. There is an aura surrounding him of power and sexuality yet blended with unassuming sort of friendliness as if his good looks are accidental somehow.

He laughs. His teeth flash white and are almost, but not quite - perfect. An almost perfect, ever so slightly, crooked smile - disconcertingly sexy. "Very funny," he replies tapping his long fingers on his Alexander Chevalier name tag. "Oh, this is my sister, Sophie."

The Sophie sounds like Soffy. His accent is disaring me. I think of those classic, 1960's French films- Alain Delon movies -  yes, he does have that air about him - a yound Alain Delon - mixed with the raw, untamed sex appeal of Jean Paul Belmondo in his prime - What was that film? Ah yes, À Bout de Souffle - Breathless was its translation. That's how I feel now...

Breathless.

Review:

4.5 out of 5 Stars!!!

Warning: This review contains some very HOT content!!! 18 years+ recommended.

I am so glad I was able to read these as a bundle, and not have to wait. Otherwise, I think I might have had a coronary!
If you like 50 shades of Grey and the Bared to You series, you are ABSOLUTELY going to LOVE The Pearl Trilogy. They are addictive, heart-pounding, suspenseful, sexy, and change-your-panties-steamy!!!

I loved that Pearl was not a twenty-something young inexperienced girl. But rather a forty year old divorcee who had been in a dry spell for over two years that she referred to as "the desert". Like most women she believed the magical MO (multiple orgasm) was a lovely myth. That is until she meets Alexander.

Alexader Chevalier is an Alph Male in a very good way. Wise beyond his years. At  twenty-five, he is a driven self-made billionare, who owns the Internet company HookedUp, a dating site with a "Twitter" feel. He is serious book boyfriend material.

Their age difference did not seem odd while reading like I originally imagined. They complimented each other very well. You got the sense that they were destined for each other. Although, they had to overcome many internal and external forces.

"I know you, Pearl. I know that if you don't spend the rest of your days with me you won't be truly happy. I don't mean to sound conceited saying that but deep inside me, I feel exactly the same way. If we can't be together we'll both go through life half dead. Without you, I feel like my flame has been snuffed out. Without you I am half the person I should be."

The entire trilogy is super steamy. There were A LOT of fan-yourself HOT scenes!!

"I'm going to fuck you now like you deserve, you greedy little girl. You want my cock? All of it?"

"Please," I cry. "It's so big it scares me, though."

"Too big for you? Too big for your tight little pearlette? It's so tight. Like a virgin. I think it needs to be ripped open by my big cock. I think it needs that."

HOLY-SMOKES!!!!! Alexander is such a dirty talker. I loved every minute of it.

The music that accompanies the series is unique and adds so much depth to the story. There is an entire playlist for you to enjoy while reading it.

So if you are jonesing for an erotic read that will keep you on edge, hot and bothered, with an amazing love story. I highly recommend The Pearl Trilogy.

Alexandra loved the hot sex she experienced as a submissive in the bedroom, but would never give her heart to any man.

After getting hurt by his sub and wife, Paul swore he would never make that kind of commitment to a woman again.

They meet at the club that Alex frequents and quickly becomes play partners. The sex is amazin, but despite their reservations, they begin to fall for each other. Will they be willing to admit their feelings for each other?

Excerpt:

I will never forget the night I met him, the one that would eventually not only put a collar on my neck, but around my heart.

I was sitting at the club with my best friend Stephanie and her boyfriend Zach when I noticed him. It was hard to tell exactly how tall he was, but I guessed at least 6'3". His dark blond hair was short and combed back. The suit he was wearing was obviously expensive, Armani maybe? I bet he had amazing shoulders under that suit. What really caught my attention were his eyes.

He noticed me looking at him and gave a slight smile and nod before I quickly glanced away. There was something about his piercing, icy blue eyes that unnerved me.

"Who's the new guy with Max?" I nodded my head over to where Max and the mystery man were sitting, taking a quick drink of my water.

Zach looked in Max's direction and shrugged. "Pretty sure that's Max's friend from college. Rumor has it he had a big club in New York or something and he's going to partner with Max here."

"Huh..." I glanced back over at him. If he was a friend of Max's and had a club, there's a good chance he was a Dom too. I wondered if he was taken.

"Alex, what's going through that head of yours?" My best friend Stephanie smirked. It was like she could read my mind.

"Whatever do you mean?" I smiled at her innocently.

She shook her head with a laugh. "I know that look. You're looking at him like you're trying to survey the fresh meat."

I shrugged. "Maybe...and maybe I was just thinking I should go over and say hi. You know, to be polite."

Stephanie laughed. "What about Will? Are you guys finally done?"

I waved my hand, dismissing her comment. Will had been a Dom at the club that I'd been casually seeing. "There's nothing between Will and me. We were just having a good time, besides, he moved to California and I haven't heard from him in over a month; no phone call, no text, nothing."

She snorted. "That's weird. With the way he acted before he left, I would've thought you'd hear from him all the time. Shit, the way he talked about you, I'm surprised he didn't try to drag you alone with him."

I rolled my eyes. "Like that would've happened. He knew I wasn't even looking for a collar. We had a good time together but it wasn't anything special. I certainly wouldn't relocate for him! Besides, I just want to say hi. There's no harm in that."

Unlike my best friend who wore her Dom Zach's collar, I had no interest in making that kind of commitment to anyone. I was in the lifestyle for the kinky sex more than anything. I absolutely loved a man that took charge in the bedroom.

Steph and I have been friends since high school. One night after way too many margaritas, we confessed to each other that we liked sex a little bit rough and were curious about the BDSM lifestyle. We started doing some research, and found the local underground BDSM club, Backstage. We started coming here to play and learn ore about the lifestyle five years ago and became regulars.

Stephanie met her Dom Zach right away and was collared after six months. She's never been with another Dom. After three years together, they got engaged. I, on the other hand, had play partners at the club, even dated a few casually but nothing more. I knew in my head being submissive didn't mean giving up all of my independence, but I couldn't seem to give myself to anyone enough to be collared for more than play.

I couldn't stop glancing over at the corner booth. "That's it." I stood up, smoothing my hands on my skirt, my mind set on meeting the mystery man. "I'm going over to say hi."

"Good luck!" Steph called after me as I walked away.

I looked hot and I knew it. Taking a deep breath, I bit my lip as I approached their table; glad I had worn my red lipstick. My long blond hair was piled up on my head in a messy bun with pieces framing my face and showing off my large silver hoops.

The two men stopped their conversation as they noticed me walk up. The mystery man's eyes traveled from my freakishly high heels that took me forever to learn how to walk in to the obscenely short hem of my favorite black skirt. His gaze finally stopped at the nearly indecent amount of clevage revealed in my black bustier. When he finally lifted his eyes to meet mine, it was like he could see through me ,to my soul. I was so thrown off by his look I almost forgot why I was there.

"Um, hi Max. How are you doing tonight? Do you guys need any drinks or anything?" That's the best I had? Lame. I glance at Max's friend and gave him a wide smile.

"Hey Alex. I didn't know I hired you as a waitress." Max looked up at me with a smirk on his face. He was one of the few Doms here I hadn't been with, but it wasn't for lack of trying on my part. He wasn't interested, but then again, I'd never seen him play at the club with anyone all of the time I'd been coming here.

I narrowed my hazel eyes at him. "I was just trying to be nice." I could feel the handsome stranger's gaze on me, looking me up and down. My nipples tightened under my leather bustier.

"Mmhmm..." He chuckled. "Have you met Paul?"

I turned my attention to him and smiled. I suddenly felt like I had a stomach full of butterflies. I'd never been so nervous to talk to a man before. Not sure why I suddenly was now. "I've not had the pleasure."

"Alex, this is my best friend from college, Paul. Paul, this is Alex. She's a submissive here at the club."

I held out my had. "Nice to meet you."

He took my tiny hand, gripping it firmly in his strong one. My eyes widened as I felt something like jolt of electricity pass from his hand to mine. From the way his eyes darkened, I was pretty sure he felt it too. "Nice to meet you too, Alex." His voice was deep and smooth, like a bass drum. I shruddered suddenly as a vision of him whispering naughty things in my ear flashed in my head.

"Alex?" Max's voice suddenly jolted me out of my fantasy.

I broke out of my reverie to realize both men were looking at me expectedly. "What?" My face was warm as I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear and smiled sheepishly at Paul. "Sorry."

He winked at me. "That's ok, Alex." Oh my god, the way he said my name made my knees weak.

"Well then, I'm going to head back to my friends. Just wanted to stop by and say hi. It was nice to meet you Paul." I was totally flustered now. What's wrong with me? Men never flustered me. I was usually the one to do the flustering.

"It was nice to meet you too. Hopefully we will run into each other again soon." Paul nodded and licked his lips. This time I had visions of being tied up in front of him while he used that tongue to tease me until I screamed for mercy.

"I would like that," I replied softly. "I'll leave you boys alone. See you later."

As I walked back to my friends, I snuck a peek back at Paul and caught him watching me. I sat back down at the bar with a smug grin and took a long drink of my water.

"So?" Stephanie prompted me eagerly, her wide eyes looking at expectantly as she waited for a full report.

"So what?" I shrugged nonchalantly.

She reached over to mack my arm lightly. "Ow! What was that for?" I rubbed my arm, giving her a wounded look.

"Please! I saw the look on your face when you left here. It was a typical Alex look-the 'I'm going to eat you for lunch and spit you out' look. And you came back here looking pretty happy with yourself."

"I have no idea what you are talking about. I just went over to say hi, " I said, trying not to giggle. I couldn't hide anything from my best friend.

"Sure ya did. So what's his name?" She interrogated me.

I played with the corner of the napkin under my glass. "His name is Paul."

"What else?" She was so nosy. She loved to live vicariously through my exploits since she had been with Zach so long.

I laughed. "That was about it. We didn't talk that long, Steph."

Stephanie rubbed my arm. "True." She rested her head on her hand on the bar. "Are you going to put the moves on him?"

"I don't know, I just met him after all." I stammered. "He's hot tough. We'll see."

Stephanie leaned back tolook over at Paul. "Yeah he is. Panty-dropping hot, in fact."

I busted out laughing. "Oh my god, Steph!" I turned around, getting another look at Paul. He saw me looking and gave me a smile and a nod. Yep, Paul was definitely panty-dropping hot.

I couldn't wait to see more of him.

Review:

If you are looking for a quick read with steamy BDSM elements then  Naughty Girl is exactly what you need.

Alex is a sub with an attitude. She has never been collared by anyone before, but once she meets Paul she start to question if maybe she should give being collared to someone a chance.

"When he finally lifted his eyes to meet mine, it was as if he could see through me, to my soul."

It was a very fast read with an edge. The only draw back was it seemed a bit predictable. But that could have been because it was so short. All in all, I give it a 3 1/2 STARS!
