Emblazed (The Elemental Prophecy #2) by Nikki Narvaez ~ Blog Tour

Emblazed (The Elemental Prophecy #2)
By: Nikki Narvaez
Release date: September 20, 2013

~Synopsis~

Three days. Three days seems like a lot of time, but not when you are to save the one you love. Not when time is against you.

Three days is all Jace has to save Brielle, to prevent both of their deaths. Both have more to battle than they ever imagined while they fight for their lives, their souls, and their love.

Will Jace be able to rescue Brielle, or will the fate of the world die with her?

~Hot Teaser~

We went back upstairs to our room, where Brielle headed straight for the balcony doors, opening them and letting the crisp, ocean breeze flow into our room. She walked out and propped her arms on the banister of the balcony railing as she gazed out over the sea.

I walked up behind her, wrapping my arms around her, placing them on top of hers and pressing our bodies together. Her emotions were everywhere, consisting of concern, fear, anger, and guilt. I rubbed her arms, letting my touch wash over her in an attempt to erase the feelings plaguing her. She leaned back into me as she sighed, "Jace, I-"

"Shh, mi amante," I whispered in her ear, cutting her off, "Don't worry about anything right now. Let's enjoy this last bit of peace together before we are thrown back into chaos."

Surprisingly, she didn't try to argue. Her body relaxed against me and she pulled my arms to wrap around her waist before laying hers on top of mine. Our bodies thrived as we held one another, the electricity humming over our skin and cocooning us in our love while drowning out the rest of the world until there was nothing but us.

I dipped my head down before grazing my lips along Brielle's neck. Every feeling was intensified with our connection so intricately synchronized, and I could feel our desire increasing with each intoxicating touch.

My hands traveled to her sides before trailing under her shirt to touch her silky skin. They moved upwards to capture her supple breasts, the nipples of which were already hardened with arousal.

Her hands had made their way to the back of my head, fisting themselves in my hair as my mouth loved her delicate neck. My cock stiffened with desire from the sensations of touching and tasting her, pressing against her ass as soft moans escaped her.

I trailed one of my hands down her stomach before slipping under the waistband of her shorts and beneath the lacy fabric of her panties. Her sex was drenched with her desire, and I let my fingers play within her moist, delicate folds. I bit her earlobe lightly as I growled, "Fuck, you are so wet for me already, baby."

She moaned again as I continued to intricately trace my fingers along her pussy. Gods, I wanted to taste her desire so badly. I spun her around, moving my hands to unbutton her shorts and pull them off before removing her panties. She went for my jeans, but I pushed her hands away and shook my had as I rumbled, "I wanna taste you, baby; need to taste how much you want me before I fuck you."

I grabbed her hips and propped her on the railing of the balcony  before kneeling before her and gripping her hips to keep her from falling. I pulled her closer, until her ass was on the edge of the railing before draping each of her legs over my shoulders and giving her a mischievous smirk, "Hold on."

My tongue slowly traced the insides of her thighs, which were damp with her desire. I greedily savored her sweetness as I slowly inched closer to her apex I took my time, slowly licking within her folds and nibbling her clit. I pulled and teased it with my teeth as she writhed against me before plunging my tongue within her core. She moaned loudly as more of her nectar flooded my mouth, her  pussy already pulsing around my tongue as she neared orgasm.

I moved my hands from her hips to her ass, gripping tightly and pulling her closer as I devoured her, my tongue delving deep inside until she shuddered her release against my mouth. I eagerly suckled the rest of the sweet juices from her sex, licking it clean before I stood. I kept my hands supporting her as she slowly eased off the railing and stood on shaky legs.

I was far from done with her. Just in case we might not make it out of the Underworld, I wanted to savor every second I had with her, and I was going to spend the rest of the day doing exactly that.

I stripped off her shirt, tossing it to the deck of the balcony with the rest of her clothes before inching her back against the railing, pressing my body against hers. She hurriedly pulled my shirt off before undoing the button of my shorts and sliding them down my legs, along with my boxer-briefs.

I turned her around before pushing her down until she was bent over the railing. I spread her legs apart from behind as I eased my cock to her slick entrance. She groaned as I slowly entered her, clutching the railing with both hands as I began to thrust inside her. One of my hands held onto her hip, and the other trailed up her back to grab her hair, which had curtained over her shoulders and spread down her back, her head tilted upwards while moaning my name. I grunted, "You like that, baby? Like when I fuck you like this?"

Her cries of pleasure grew louder as she moaned, "Yes, baby. I love it when you fuck me!"

Damn, she was so sexy when she sounded like that. All the noises emanating from her were slowly unraveling my control, especially when combined with the amazing sensations of our bond. As I felt my release approaching. I stopped, wanting to watch her face as I made her come, I carefully turned her over, supporting her body, making sure to stay within her warmth as her legs were wrapped aroud me and her back was against the railing.

I resumed my thrusts, bracing one hand one the railing while the other gripped her ass as I plunged in and out of her. I leaned down to take her breast in my mouth as my gaze traveled up to her face. She arched against me, supporting herself on the balcony with her elbows while moans of pleasure escaped her open mouth as her eyes closed in ecstasy.

Her pussy throbbed around me as we both neared climax, I pulled her off the balcony and carried her to our bed, laying her down on the edge and inching her back until we reached the center of the mattress. I resumed my thrusts as I claimed her mouth, our tongues joining instantly as we devoured one another. Our hands frantically roamed over each other's bodies as Brielle took me deeper and deeper into her center, taking everything I was giving her.

Her pussy tightened around my shaft as she climaxed. The throbbing of her walls against my cock and her throaty moans sent me into ecstasy, my cum coating her walls with my release. I rolled to my side, panting heavily to catch my breath, but Brielle continued to rolled us until she was on top of me with my dick still enclosed inside her.

Her hair was wild with damp curls and sweat glistened over her skin. She looked down at me through hooded eyes, causing my cock to harden again, "My turn."

~Our Review~

Emblazed (The Elemental Prophecy, #2)Emblazed by Nikki Narvaez
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars

Emblazed is packed with action, suspense, and of course, great romance.

Nikki's writing definitely has grown from book one and I know it will get better and better the more she writes.

Book 2 pushes us off the cliff we were left hanging from at the end of Envisioned. Boy does Nikki love those cliff hangers. ;)

Brielle's journey through Emblazed is a tough one emotionally, physically, and mentally. My heart hurt for her many times while reading, but she definitely showed me how strong she can be.

Jace is there for Brielle throughout, always protecting her and keeping her grounded. All while facing his own demons. Not only does he worry about his and his friends safety but he battles his insecurities of being strong enough to protect Brie. Jace uses being a fighter to his advantage. Who wouldn't want a hot fighter protecting you. *Swoon* ^_^

In Emblazed, all of the characters are pushed to their limits and their bonds are tested.

If you like paranormal romance then give the Elemental Prophecy series a try.

The Lost Souls (The Holy Trinity Trilogy #2.5) by Madeline Sheehan ~ Blog Tour ~ Review

The Lost Souls, #2.5 in The Holy Trinity Series
By: Madeline Sheehan
Release Date: October 31st, 2013

The Lost Souls follows the supporting characters from the first two books in The Holy Trinity Series.

It doesn't matter if you love Paranormal books or have never read a Paranormal novel before, you will fall in love with this clan of Gypsies trying to survive the end of the world.

~Synopsis~

Tahyra Petros tried desperately to save herself and her sister, and instead ended up forever changed.

Shandor Asenov battled with death, and lost.

Hockey Sava, in a valiant attempt at saving his friends, vanished.

Caroline Andrews lost her brother during a violent attempt at survival and was subsequently left alone in the hands of an unknown fate.

And, Marko Siwak disappeared in the middle of the night and was never heard from again.

These are the stories of their journeys lost in a world where devastation knows no boundaries, where enemies await them at every turn, and where heartache, loss, and death supersede happiness, peace, and love...and the destiny that awaits them.

~Here is the Prologue to get you guys started~

"Not all those who wander are lost..."
- J. R. R. Tolkien

What is fate? Or destiny?

Do we each have a predestined plan? A path to follow on our journey, mapped out long before us?

Does someone, something, somewhere, already know what hasn't yet come to pass? Are words such as chance, fortune and luck, just words? Are we all just pawns in a game being played by a force of power, so much bigger than us, a force so great, so unfathomably paramount that we, as mere humans, simply do not have the ability to comprehend it?

What if the answer was yes?

What if every step we've taken, every choice, every mistake we've make, every success, every sad or happy moment in our lives, every person we've met, every feeling, every emotion we'd ever experienced, every single breath we've taken, our first and our last...

What if every single moment of our lives was, is, will be --no matter who you are, poor or wealthy, famous, criminal, loved or hated - what if it was an inevitability, a foreordination, utterly uncontrollable by us?

Would it still be worth it?

~Our Review~

The Lost Souls (The Holy Trinity Trilogy, #2.5)The Lost Souls by Madeline Sheehan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Lost Souls is the best in the series so far!

Ever wonder what happened with the supporting characters from books 1 & 2? What happened to Hockey after the raid? Is Shandor dead or is he a Skin Eater? Where did Marko go when he left camp? Lost Souls answers all these questions and leaves you wanting more!

In The Lost Souls the world is still shit and no one is safe. The story covers mostly book 2 but it follows Hockey, Marko, Shandor, and Nico with multiple POVs and story lines that are all interwoven brilliantly.

Madeline does an impeccable job keeping the story together with a continuous flow between all the character and not making the reader question once as to who's life you are following.

Never in a series have I been so invested in all the characters but in Holy Trinity not only do I love Trinity, Xan, and Gerik but I want to know how all of the character's lives turn out. I care to know who lives or dies. Who is safe and who is in harms way. Who falls in love and who gets broken hearted. The Lost Souls gave me all of that and more.

Some of my reactions while reading:

I love Shandor!

Dude the dominance scene is still hot even the third time reading lol

OMG WHAT HAPPENED TO GARIK?!?!

WHAT THE FUCK!!! Nico has lost his shit.

Now I'm not getting any sleep tonight

I know in this last 10% my emotions are going to be everywhere

The next day:

Dude I'm so tired but it's was so worth it.

I'm still thinking about Lost Souls. It's was just so good! I'm so excited!!

Lol I'm silly I know ^_^

It doesn't matter if you love Paranormal books or have never read a Paranormal novel before, you will fall in love with this clan of Gypsies trying to survive the end of the world.

Check out the first two books in the series:

•The Soul Mate (Holy Trinity book 1)

**This is a Full-length companion to Fading**

Freeing (Fading, #1.5)Freeing by E.K. Blair
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Conflicted, unsure, rejection, self-hating, ashamed, defined, confusion, choices -not really, realization, forgiveness, love, acceptance is ---FREEING!

I was so excited to read this story not only because I really liked Jase in Fading , but because I happen to enjoy a good M/M romance. And let me tell you... Freeing did not disappoint. E.K. Blair took me through so many phases of self-discovery in a way that I have not seen done before. I was shown raw emotions through these events that were not in any way melodramatic. They were so impactful and read so true and real. There is so much LOVE in this story but done in a such a beautiful way. Not overly done and in your face. It's a supportive type of love that endures and carries your pain for you. It allows you to put down those walls you've been holding up and open yourself up and embrace it. It was just a beautiful thing.

"I need to free my mind of the constant taunting. I just need to be free to find myself."

This story needs to be read after reading Fading . The two stories are interwoven but very different. In Freeing you get to see a real perspective into the helplessness that others feel when dealing with people who have suffered such a traumatic event, such as the one that Candace did in Fading . The love and support that Jase and Candace have for each other, and we saw from them in Fading is magnified with Jase's POV in Freeing .

If you have never read a M/M romance before Freeing is the perfect book to start with. You will feel so connected to Jase and Mark's story. They show you what love is all about.

I feel like E.K. Blair laid a piece of her heart in the pages of Freeing for us to find. I have to say I found it and I will forever treasure it. I can't even begin to know how emotional it must have been to write this story. But thank you from the bottom of my heart E.K. for doing so.

~Scene in alternate POV~

(Mark catches Jase and Kyle)

Picking up my cell, I quickly call Kyle.
     "Hey, man," he answers.
"Hey. Jase is on his way over. I'm running late, but heading home now. I should be there in fifteen or so," I tell him.
     "No problem."
     "Thanks."
"Yeah," he says before hanging up.
Traffic is backed up as I make my way home. Something about knowing that Jase is at my place waiting on me causes my heart beat a little quicker, but that's nothing new. I really like this guy. I could tell he was hesitant with me the other night, but the fact that he didn't skip a beat when I asked him to hit the gym with me today reassures me that maybe I was just being paranoid.

Pulling next to his car in my drive, I park and hop out. When I walk in and toss my keys onto the bar, I turn around. My beating heart wanes.
"What the fuck are you doing?"
Jase is on top of Kyle, tongue shoved in his mouth, before Kyle jumps off the couch from underneath him.
"Shit, man," Kyle pants out, and I can't even focus on him as I'm watching Jase, disengaged from the scene playing out in my living room. Completely void of emotion, he walks to grab his keys, and his demeanor is irritating.
"You're not gonna say anything?" I snap, and he doesn't as much as look my way.
     Asshole.
     "Jase! What the hell, man?"
     Nothing.
He walks past me and out the door. I should have trusted my gut when I first saw him. I knew about him. How he hops from bed to bed. But something about him, something I should have been more cautious of, told me that he felt differently with me. Who the hell am I kidding? I barely know him at all.
"Dude, I'm sorry," Kyle says and when I turn around, I let my frustration play out on him.
     "What's your problem, man?"
"He said you guys weren't anything, so I..."
"So you what? Forget it. You know what? I don't give a shit. You're just like him, always dragging ass in and out of here," I sling at him as I start making my way to my room.
"Don't be a fucking bitch, Mark."
Turning around, I throw back at him, "Fuck you, Kyle. Just get your shit and get the fuck out."
He laughs, as if I'm kidding.
     "Serious. I want you out."
Slamming my door, I'm beyond pissed. I don't even know how this guy, in a brief period of time was able to get underneath my skin the way he had. Foolish of me to think that I could have had feelings for him, but I do. Shit.

 Excerpt

The feel of Colton's skin on mine is more than I ever imagined it would be. God, it's so much more. I should have known that the sexual attraction between us was so alluring for a reason, but this is unbelievable. It's like he knows my body better than I do. I've never reacted this way before; it's surreal. I'm afraid it's going to end, and I'm not ready to feel the lack of Colton against me. Instead, I want more. I reach down and grab at the button on his jeans. He stills on top of me and pulls away from my face. He looks into my eyes and then shakes his head.

"Not today, babe," he says fiercely and reaches for my hand and pins it above my head. Okay, not what I was going for, but this is pretty nice too.

"Why not?" I whisper against his neck and then press my lips to his pulse.

"I told you earlier. I'm going to take my time with you. I want to get to know your body, slowly." He grabs my hand and pins it alongside my other. His lips meet mine again in a tantalizing but leisurely tempo. I nibble at his bottom lip and draw the metal ring into my mouth, flicking my tongue across the warm metal.

He moans into my mouth as I let go of the ring. He starts nibbling on my lower lip, pulling it and teasing it with his teeth. "Please," I beg and push my body against his.

He smiles and places a peck on my lips. "As hot as it is that you want it, not tonight," he says with ardor and then pulls me up. I sit up, ad he sits across from me. He runs his hand along my neck and down my chest, grips my hips, and pulls me onto his lap.

"You have no idea how long I've been wanting to kiss you," he says sincerely and bites my shoulder.

I throw my head back while his lips skim the skin to my chin. "Me too," I reply roughly. I didn't even know my voice could sound like that; I'm so out of breath.

"It exceeded my expectations," he says against my skin.

Review

Stinger (Sign of Love, #3)Stinger by Mia Sheridan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*4.5 Stars*

Another fantastic book in the Sign of Love Series by Mia Sheridan. First Leo captured my heart and now Carson Stinger took it for a ride. Stinger is funny, full of sexual innuendos, super hot and steamy sex scenes, but it also has a very emotional story too!

This story is not just a fluffy love story. It's so much more than that. From shame to redemption.

Sometimes people carry shame around and the only way to live is by wearing a mask. They are just waiting for that right person that they can finally open up to. Sometimes that happens when you least expect it...Say when you are stuck in an elevator with nowhere to go, and nothing to do than play 'Sink one for a secret'.

Grace Hamilton (a law student) has her life mapped out. She has 'well-made' plans that she wants to follow and not deviate from. But when she meets Carson Stinger something makes her throw away those plans, even if it's just for a weekend.
To hell with 'well-made' plans give me Carson Stinger!!!

"Life can change on a dime." I grinned. "Wild, isn't it?" --Carson Stinger

Carson Stinger (Straight Male Performer) is a porn star. He is the type of person that goes through life by the seam of his pants (pun intended) :) But his whole outlook changes after being stuck with Grace. He finds himself not wanting to let her go. But what exactly could he offer the girl that has everything mapped out?
Carson at first is a bit of a douche to Grace but once his walls come down he is so sweet and caring. He is also hot and very alpha.

"Lose control baby. Just for a weekend. Let me take charge. I'll take good care of you, I promise."

Carson had an issue with the movie Titanic. He thought it was a craptastic love story. I could not stop laughing at Carson with the whole Titanic issue because I happened to agree with him!

'He leaned down into me and in a mocking voice said, "Jack, Jack, don't ever let go...well, that is, unless I try once to pull you up on this two-person raft and can't do it. Then, God Speed human Popsicle. It was fun while it lasted."'

I can't say enough good things about this book. This book had a little bit of everything. So well rounded from funny to emotional. A must read for sure!

This Trevor dude is something else!!! How dare he. I have a feeling things are taking a turn for the worst.

Karinna: How far are you?

Yari: 13%

Karinna: He is totally stressing me out!!

Yari: No bueno, AT ALL!!!

It's funny how people can apologize after doing something so badly and expect forgiveness right away.

Karinna: I have a feeling I'm going to want to have a Lorena Bobbitt moment with Trevor lol

Yari: Oh my god, YES!!!

This sentence gave me chills... "No one knew that under that facade of godliness, he was a monster."

Karinna: I hope someone will see the monster if she can't get away

Yari: For her sake I hope so too.

Oh no! Why does she have to make stupid decisions after everything that's happened?

So this might be a preference thing, but although I appreciate the flashback to better understand what happened, I can't help feeling like I want the story to go back to the present and get on with it.

I'm sooo torn! As much as I want to feel sorry for her, I can't help but to blame her at the same time!

Karinna: I know right!! I was hoping she would be strong enough to leave him.

And I agree about the past. It kind of felt like I was reading two books in one.

Yari: Yes exactly!

Sooo...even though I understand her mother's motives, it still upsets me that she interfered.

Karinna: Yeah me too!! Are you talking about the letters?

Yari: Yes!!!!

Karinna: So you read the part where I wanted to Lorena Bobbit Trevor!

Yari: Oh my god YES! I was speechless!

But I was mad at her too.

Karinna: For even going?!?

Yari: YEAH!

I hate the cycle. If you know what I mean. I understand that it happens but it still upsets me that they fall so easily for their antics.

Karinna: Yeah I totally agree. Even after everything he put her through she still went back. Also her friends SUCK!!

And I use the word "friend" lightly

Yari: Totally! They were just as bad as her. So blinded.

Karinna: And how sweet is Chris

Yari: My heart hurts for Chris.

Karinna: Teen Chris or adult Chris?

Yari: Both. As a misunderstood teen and adult Chris.

Karinna: I hurt for him as a teen and a little as an adult by my heart goes out to Michel. You know how I always defend the wounded party

Yari: Yeah yeah.

Karinna: Lol

Yari: I don't know why but there is something about Michael that doesn't sit right with me. Maybe I'm looking too much into his behavior.

Karinna: No I felt the same but he definitely redeems himself and he is such a great guy

Yari: GRRRR! I don't want him to be great. LOL!

Karinna: Lol

Yari: Not the ending I wanted AT ALL!

Karinna: It was a satisfying ending for me

Yari: I had a few issues with the ending. Choices that she made that I don't believe were right. It felt like for the majority of the book it was going to end in a completely different way.

"A good debut by Melanie Dawn with a little bit of everything I like in a book. I'll definitely keep my eye out for her next book." ~Karinna

"So Much It Hurts was painful, heartfelt, emotional, frustrating, and angsty. Melanie Dawn's writing is full of potential. She is someone to watch out for." ~ Yari

*Excerpt*

Jasper ran up to Chris and shook his soaked fur all over us. I didn't mind the cool spray of water. It seemed to extinguish the spark that had momentarily ignited between us.

Chis laughed. "I'd better get this drowned rat home and get him cleaned up. My roommates are going to kill me." His deep voice reverberated in his chest, more hearty and masculine than in high school, but a gentle reminder of the same laugh that coated my soul with happiness years ago.

"Okay," I nodded again as I pushed a strand of my matted wet hair behind my ear.

Chris ran his hand through his own windblown hair. Eyeing me from head to toe, he slowly shook his head at me.

"What?" I asked innocently, suddenly aware of every imperfection in his line of sight. Glancing at my toes that dug nervously in the sand as if they were trying to find a place for me to hide, I twisted the knotted strand of hair around my index finger.

"God, you're beautiful...just like I remember you." With that remark, he smiled, turned around, and jogged off with Jasper eagerly racing ahead of him.

I stood there watching him run away while my heart fluttered in my chest.

Get a grip, Kaitlyn. This can't happen, whatever this is...
