How do you even write a review for a book that was just simply MIND BLOWINGLY AMAZING? I feel like no matter what I say, I simply will not be doing it justice.
If you thought Collide was good you are in for a treat. Pulse is deliciously steamy. It makes your heart sore and heavy. It makes you laugh and cry. It makes you anxious and squirmy while you are reading. I seriously felt like a crack-head my hands were shaking and my heart was beating a million miles a minute. I needed my next fix and the only way to get it was to continue reading. I simply could not get enough!
How do I even start?
The story picks up exactly where Collide left off. Emily is left to pick up the pieces of a choice gone completely wrong. Determined to make it right she finally listens to her heart and decides to chase after the man that she knew she loved, even if she didn’t admit it to herself, since the moment she laid eyes on him. Straight to Gavin’s arms is where she wants to go. But is it too late?
“He was gone. Her Yankees-loving, bottle cap-giving, dimpled smile other half was gone, and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do to turn back time.”
Emily is still very much engaged to be married to that excuse for a human being, Dillon, and he does not want to go quietly into the dark. Dillon is more determined than ever is to keep Emily by his side at all cost.
At this point I wanted to rip Dillon’s balls from their sack and feed them to him. Yes, I feel that strongly about him. Despise is not a strong enough word for the hatred that I have for that man.
Emily is not the weak person that she was in Collide. The one that made excuses for EVERYTHING that Dillon did to her. He basically brainwashed her and manipulated her. She is done with all of that. She finally stands up for herself and severs their tie. But is it forever…?

Mr. Gavin Blake has been M.I.A. for quite some time. He cut himself from all sorts of communications going as far as throwing his phone on the runway before his plane took off. Only his brother knows his whereabouts, but has not been able to reach him since he left. The thought of not seeing Gavin again eats at Emily. She knows she must do something. She can’t go another day without telling him how sorry she is. With newfound determination she decides to pursue him and see where this takes her. Even if he closes the door in her face she must tell him exactly what he means to her and how truly SORRY she is for EVERYTHING.
Gavin is torn-up with all the feelings that he has coursing through his body. He is so lost without the woman that he knows was meant to be his from the moment he saw her. All he wants to do is forget, even if for one night. Maybe, a “void filler” is just what he needs.
Though not the best flier, Emily gets on a plane bound to Playa del Carmen where Gavin has been. The welcome she thought she was going to get does not happen like she had imagined. Maybe it is too late for her and Gavin.
The ball is in Gavin’s court now. She has made her move and proved to him that she means what she says.
“The thought of not seeing your eyes when I wake up or not hearing your heart next to me when you’re asleep made me sick. With all of that, I decided no, I can’t go another day without you. I don’t want to go another day without you.”-Gavin
“You’re all I see. All I hear. All I dream about. I came here for you. I’m not leaving. I’m not going anywhere. It’s you, Gavin. Only you.”
Yay! I finally was able to catch my breath and do a happy dance. But that’s as far into the story that I am going to elaborate. There is too much that you have to experience for yourself so you get the full effect of how truly WONDERFUL this book is. But I will say this…
Don’t think because they finally are together things are finally going to go smooth for these two. Nope, think again. These characters are faced with hurtles and struggles that will crash, tear, and rip your heart out and leave you to find all the tiny broken pieces that were scattered from the impact. Eventually, you will be able to find all those pieces and mend your heart one chapter at a time. Gavin is truly and completely swoon-worthy. Gavin, Gavin Blake is very 007ish! Top book boyfriend of-all-time!

*Author Bio*
I've always been a lover of writing, but mostly dabbled in creating poetry while raising my three beautiful children. I am grateful my husband of fifteen years has supported me--albeit sometimes kicking and screaming--as I pursue this "hobby" of mine. Without his help, writing would be an impossible endeavor.
In late June 2012, I felt an urgent tug of my pen, and I began writing one of my first novels, Collide. Although I thought it might never see the light of day, it gave me the courage to plunge headfirst into a path I had never considered before.
