I wasn't always in love with Colton Calloway; I was in love with his younger brother, Kyle, first. Kyle was my first one true love, my first in every way.
Then, one stormy August night, he died, and the person I was died with him.
Colton didn't teach me how to live. He didn't heal the pain. He didn't make it okay. He taught me how to hurt, how to not be okay, and, eventually, how to let go.

I need a moment to gather my thoughs…
Jasinda Wilder what can I say… WOW…I just… Where did that… Really… *Sigh* Ok, I think I can form complete sentences now. Falling Into You left me emotionally raw. It was not at all what I was expecting, but I wouldn’t change for anything in the world. Sickening good! I had a heavy heart throughout most of the book. That was alleviated temporarily by the brilliantly steamy sex scenes that left me panting. “She’s biting her lip, worrying it between her teeth, grey-green eyes pinning me to the bench. Shit. For some reason I can’t fathom, that habit, the biting her lip… I can’t take it. I want to throw down the guitar and go over to her and take that perfect plump lower lip into my mouth and not let go.” “It’s just a thing. You bite your lip, and I want to take that lip into my mouth and suck on it like a Popsicle. I want to lick your lips and bite them and kiss you until your fucking lost and gasping and puddled on the floor.” But then the roller-coaster would start again and my heart would be compounded into my chest once again. “I’m falling in love with you, Colton. I don’t know if it’s too soon to say that to you, but…it’s true. It’s scary, because I don’t know if everybody is going to understand, but I don’t care right now. I just have to say it to you, because—just because.” “I’m not just falling in love with you, Nell. I’m falling into you. You’re an ocean, and I’m falling in drowning in the depths of who you are. Like you said, it’s scary in a way, but it’s also the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced. You are the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced.” *SIGH* and *SWOON* don’t even begin to describe the emotions that I felt. This story left me split wide open and bleeding from every pore. Another element that I particularly loved with this book was the music. Jasinda told a story through every song she selected. These songs spoke of things that the characters weren’t able to say themselves. She even included a playlist at the end of the book, which I immediately needed to add to my collection. Thank you, Jasinda, for delivering this emotional, steamy, powerful, exciting, and musically magical story to us. |
